Met with a surgeon the other day for a second opinion regarding some hand weakness/etc. It wasn't the opinion I was looking for. I have a broken plate from c5-c7. Original injury was c6. He says I have impingement at c4/c5 and significant impingement at c7/c8. He wants to remove the old hardware and fuse me from c4-c8. Posterior and anterior.
So... I'm a little nervous. I am going in for a new mri and CT scan soon. I am not sure what to expect. I'm definitely not looking forward to recovery. He mentioned a halo brace. I've never been great about following dr orders in the past with wearing braces or the like. What can I expect? How much time will I be out of work?
